The Time is Now -- Support Your Green Envelope Appeal
Reminder
Back in the days of World War II M. W.
Brother and President Harry S. Truman made a national appeal to get 10 cents
per Mason per year to help support this charitable work, that goal was never
accomplished.
If we were fortunate enough to receive 10 cents per member today
we would be able to expand our program to include all 172 V.A. Medical Centers
and all State Veterans Homes.
Every community in the nation would hear about
this benevolent work and our Fraternity would benefit from it. We would erase
the false impression that the Masonic Fraternity is a secret organization only
interested in itself.
Dear Brethren,
Dear Brethren,
It is an honor for me to be asked to prepare the 2011 Appeal Letter for the Masonic Service Association of North America - Hospital Visitation Program.
As a Veteran who served this country in the United States Marine Corp I am well aware of the value of visiting our Veterans in VA Hospitals. In fact, both my lady Susan and I feel so strongly about this issue that Lady Susan made the Hospital Visitation Program one of her charitable activities for 2011.
Our Veterans in VA Hospitals and State Veterans Homes very often have no family or friends to visit them and so the MSA Hospital Visitors help fill many lonely hours. The attention given in such visits form friendships but more importantly make the Veteran aware that there is someone "out there" who cares!
Our Veterans served our country in its time of need and now it is our turn to serve them in their time of need.
Won't you please help support this most worthwhile program, knowing that when an MSA Hospital Visitor touches a patient in a VA Hospital or a State Veterans Home they are truly representing the entire Masonic community.
Thanks for your help!
