The Competition Procedure
The steps in the competition are:
- Register your Lodge in the competition.
Closing date for registration is June 1.
- Prepare all your material and submit to the Masonic Information Center.
Deadline is December 1.
- Winners are announced at the Grand Masters Conference in February.
Registration
Enter your Lodge in the Mark Twain competition. You can do this in any of the following ways:
- Download the Registration form, type in the information and return to the Masonic Information Center by fax or email.

- Register your Lodge online. Click here and fill out our form.
Prepare and Submit Your Material
Gather all the material to submit to the MIC. See the submission page for details of the format for materials.
Important Reminders
- Because of anticipated volume, your binder and any supporting material CANNOT be returned to you.
- Send only copies of documentation included in your binder.
- Please do not send originals.
- Respect copyright laws.
- Clearly print name and address of lodge on all support material.
- Send entry binder via trackable service (FedEx, UPS, Priority Mail, or other)
Winners
Each year there will be up to 50 lodge winners, based upon number of entries received.
- All entries are judged on individual merit.
- Winners are announced and posted on the Twain Award website.
- Winners will also be highlighted in the MSANA website, MIC listserv, and numerous Masonic publications.
The Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Award winners are announced in February of each year at the Grand Masters’ Conference.
